Wellness at Cook's Club Adakoy
A wellness retreat so serene and uplifting, it would be criminal not to share… Tailored Retreats recently experienced the hospitality of Cook’s Club Adakoy, an adult’s only peninsula playground with spectacular views, chilled vibes and eco-conscious living, in the beautiful area of Marmaris, in Turkey.
It’s hard to put into words the magic of Cook’s Club Adakoy. Tucked away on its own private bay, hugged by mountains and kissed by ample sun, it’s best described as a hidden gem of pure paradise. One that stands out not only in beauty but in its incredibly unique offering.
Expect a haven which unapologetically prioritises sustainability without compromising on luxury - a delicate balance very few hotels have successfully mastered in our opinion. Designed with the mantra of providing guests with “everything they need but nothing they don’t”, one should expect boho style rooms with intentional minimalism, although extra amenities are available as needed - one need only WhatsApp the hotel’s guest relations team. Rooms vary in terms of views, size and layout, catering to travellers of all sorts, including solo, couples and groups. There’s even a co-working space for those who are on a workcation. Cook’s Club Adakoy boasts a team of staff who treat you like family from the moment you arrive.
The property offers 3 board choices, breakfast only, half board or “feel-free”, the latter being Cook’s Club own brand of all-inclusive without a buffet in sight - a testament to their commitment around minimising waste. Offering instead only freshly prepared, made to order dishes, including a range of local specialities as well as international favourites.
As a solo traveller on this trip looking to switch off, I was most looking forward to enjoying morning and sunset yoga sessions against the sound of ocean waves - a highlight of my trip with the resident instructor Belgin. Also on offer were a host of activities such as cave hikes, massages, DJ classes and meditation workshops. A short water taxi over to Marmaris town was worth the trip. A small tip… avoid the shopping strips. Instead spend time getting lost in the romantic, cobbled, white-walled, backstreets, soaking up the scents of beautiful hanging flowers as you work your way up to the town’s majestic castle.
Between activities or if I fancied a guilt-free day of doing nothing, sun loungers by the pool were plentiful and offered up mesmeric views that could hypnotise even the most wired of minds. The resident DJ kept the beats flowing throughout the day, never intrusive - just feel-good tunes that lifted the soul.
A huge thank you to Özgün and Katya from the guest relations team, Hatice from reservations and last but not least, Food & Beverage Manager Serkan, as well as his team, in particular Serhat and Gizem - The hospitality you showed is second to none. It’s not a question of whether I’ll be back, only a matter of when!
