Adventure in Dominica

We were so excited when one of our retreat designers, Angela Cox,  recently received an invitation to visit the beautiful island of Dominica on a 5-night trip arranged by Paradise Promotions Marketing. Angela’s experience in her own words were:

“I was lucky enough to be invited on a FAM trip and experience the incredible island of Dominica. Not to be confused with the Dominican Republic, Dominica is a truly unique Caribbean destination. Known as the island of adventure and nature, it really does live up to its name.

We stayed at the lovely Fort Young Hotel and Dive Resort, where we had a full itinerary of epic activities planned for us, such as, swimming in Titou Gorge, exploring the waterfalls in Trafalgar Falls, visiting hot springs at Ti Kwen Global Cho, the Indian River Tour, snorkelling at Champagne Reef and a 'Discover Scuba Diving' course at Fort Young. Yes… we did all of this in just 5 nights! There were also a number of hikes and trips on offer, including a visit to the boiling lakes and whale watching to see Dominica's resident sperm whales. The Discover Scuba Diving course was definitely a highlight! We had an amazing instructor, Brad, who was very patient with us new divers and after initial training, took us out on our first open water dive. Now… I can’t talk about highlights and not mention the food. Simply WOW. To anyone who visits, I highly recommend ordering the coconut shrimp.

Being a part of Tailored Retreats has given me the opportunity to travel, extend my knowledge and experience this incredibly beautiful island first-hand. Scuba diving is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m grateful to be able to tick it off my bucket list, in a paradise setting no less.
