Best Time to Visit
Mauritius benefits from warm weather all year and has two distinct seasons, each with its upsides, making it an ideal escape most months of the year. Mauritian summer, the wet season, runs from November to April and is generally considered peak time to visit. Whilst rainfall and humidity are at their highest during this season, rain showers don’t often last for long and warmer temperatures of 30°C attract dazzling marine life to the island’s surrounding reefs, making it a diver’s paradise.
December and January are particularly popular months for those looking to escape the UK's winter, with resorts often booking up fast. February typically sees more rainfall than other months and on very rare occasions experiences tropical cyclones.
Mauritian winter, a dry season from May to October, maintains pleasant daytime temperatures of mid 20s, with lower humidity and fewer showers than the summer wet season. September and October tend to be the driest months of the year and September in particular can be a great time to take advantage of last minute off-peak rates. During the winter, we recommend resorts on the north and west areas of the island, which offer protection from high south-east trade winds, which are common in this season
