Best Time to Visit
As with other Indian Ocean countries, Sri Lanka enjoys average temperatures of 25-30°C throughout the year, making it a great year-round holiday destination.
The peak season runs from December to mid-April. This is when the south and west coasts of Sri Lanka benefit from drier weather, whereas the northern regions and east coast are impacted by monsoon.
Contrastingly, if you’re visiting Sri Lanka between May and October, it’s better to stay on the east coast and northern regions of the island for drier, sunnier weather, as this is when the south-west monsoon brings rain to the southern and western regions of the island.
